Being from a family of music educators and performers Dr. Prakash Sontakke and his wife Chaitra Sontakke (who is with Shankar Mahadevan Academy for Online Music education) have evolved certain new methodologies of teaching Hindustani Classical making it very easy and fun to learn .

Extensive travelling and working with different musicians as well as audiences all over the world has inspired Prakash to come up with very simplified ways of teaching even the most complex theories of Hindustani Classical . Being simple is not easy its actually much much more “tougher than being complex” He is also working on his Phd on the topic ” the growth and development of Hawaiian Guitar in Hindustani Classical Music ” which is almost near to completion and has an in depth analysis of the growth of this beautiful instrument in the Indian Classical Music scene . Prakash has successfully given Lecture Demonstrations all over the world namely Canada South America , Jakarta , Bangkok, Thailand ,Malaysia , in all leading world music festivals of British Columbia , Vancouver ,Victoria University ,Toronto, California , Florida , New York ,Oslo ,Trondheim,Bergen and many more academies and universities all over the world
Prakash is currently with the Octavium Academy in Bangalore where he is mentoring students of Slide Guitar and Vocals. He is also on the board of advisors with the Shankar Mahadevan Academy for online music education
